 Step 1

Dirty air enters the Particle Separator’s 19 vortexes.

Step 2

The air is spun as it enters the vortex. Centrifugal force throws the dust against the outer sides of the tube where it exits through a rear slot. The clean air continues forward through the tube which is centered inside the vortex.

Step 3

The clean air is directed to your stock air filter while the scavenge fan ejects the dust through the exhaust. The Scavenge Fan draws only 3.1 amps and is specially rated for 50,000 hours in harsh conditions including water, dust & snow.

    Our testing showed that the Polaris RZR 1000 hit capacity (10″ of H20 above initial restriction) after only 73 grams of dust.

    With the S&B Particle Separator installed, over 2,536 grams of dust can be consumed before the stock filter reached its capacity.*

    We put our system to the test on a Super- Flow Chassis Dynamometer and saw zero loss in horsepower compared to stock.

The S&B Particle Separator also allows your UTV to engulf more air. Testing was conducted on a 2014 RZR 1000 with the unit mounted on the upper roll bar. Since it is difficult to hold an exact RPM/MPH, all the numbers listed below will vary.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does it replace the stock system?

A: No, the S&B Particle Separator attaches directly to the stock intake system, so that the stock filter stays cleaner for a much longer period of time allowing you to maintain engine power.

A: Absolutely, our innovative billet aluminum clamping system and flexible silicone tube allow the Particle Separator to be installed on almost any configuration in about 60 minutes.

A: The Scavenge Fan, used to eject 94% of the dust*, uses 3.1 amps nominally.

A: Yes, we already have quite a few in the works which you can see on our applications page. You will see more new applications over the next 3-4 months including the Ranger, 2016 Yamaha Sport and many others. If you don’t see your application, click here to submit a ticket letting us know which vehicle you have, and we will notify you when it is released.

A: No! Our system works with the stock system, so they wouldn’t have a leg to stand on. In the very unlikely event you have an issue, just call S&B and we will step in immediately to resolve the issue.

A: Our system does not require maintenance; however, you may want to blow it out with compressed air occasionally depending on your riding conditions.

A: No. The Scavenge Fan is IP55 rated and was designed to endure extremely harsh conditions which includes exposure to water and dust for over 50,000 hours of operation. S&B warranties the fan for 3 years from the date of purchase.

A: Possibly. The tricky parts could be the attachment of the unit and the electrical connections. Before doing so, please review the installation instructions in detail. S&B’s warranty is only valid if installed on the vehicle specified in the installation instructions.

A: While it would still function if mounted sideways, the effectiveness of the scavenge fan would be adversely affected and the buildup of dust in the unit could occur. We do not recommend installing the unit upside down.

Depending on the circumstances, S&B may be willing to design a system specifically for your truck and construct it using rapid prototyping as it can yield a radically strong part in a short amount of time.

A: A UTV’s stock filter can clog quickly robbing the engine of power. The S&B Particle Separator is a game changer allowing UTV owners to maintain horsepower and torque by keeping the UTV’s stock filter cleaner for a much longer period of time. S&B designed this system large enough, so that there is no loss in power when used with the factory filter system**.

A: Your UTV will likely wear out before our product, but yes it does come with a five (5) year limited warranty. Visit our warranty page to learn more.

A: Most installs can be done in an average of 60 minutes depending on how comfortable you are with a wrench. No drilling or cutting required unless otherwise indicated.
